APFC PANEL
Automatic Power Factor Correction panel for improving power efficiency and reducing electricity penalties.
An APFC (Automatic Power Factor Correction) panel is an intelligent electrical control system that automatically maintains an optimal power factor (closer to 1) in an industrial or commercial setup by switching capacitor banks on or off as needed, improving energy efficiency, reducing electricity costs/penalties, and preventing voltage drops by compensating for reactive power. It ensures that electrical power is used efficiently, especially with inductive loads like motors and transformers.
Monitors Power Factor: Continuously senses the system’s power factor (ratio of real to apparent power).
Analyzes Demand: Uses microprocessors to determine the reactive power (VAr) needed.
Switches Capacitors: Automatically switches capacitor bank units (capacitors) in or out to correct lagging power factor caused by inductive loads.
- Reduces Electricity Bills: Avoids utility penalties for low power factor.
- Increases Efficiency: Ensures maximum conversion of electrical power to useful work.
- Stabilizes Voltage: Prevents voltage sags and equipment overheating.
- Lowers Current: Reduces the current flow in cables and transformers.
