For an LV switchboard the busbar current and the fault level decide the design. Collect the transformer or generator rating, the incomer current and the prospective short-circuit current at the board, since the busbar and breakers must withstand it for the stated duration.
Typical mistakes are sizing the bus only to today's load, no spare outgoing ways, and forgetting the ambient temperature, which derates the board. Decide early about metering, power factor and how the board links to the transformer, for example through a bus duct. A qualified engineer should confirm ratings against your system study.
Ratings, dimensions and certification are confirmed against your enquiry. Use Send an enquiry and our engineers will respond within 24 hours.
ACBs are used for large incomers and bus couplers because of high current rating, adjustable protection and withstand capacity. MCCBs suit outgoing feeders and smaller loads. The cut-over point depends on current and fault level, so share the load schedule and we can suggest a split.
It describes how busbars, functional units and terminals are partitioned inside the assembly, from form 1 with no internal separation up to form 4 with separate compartments per unit. Higher forms improve safety during maintenance but increase size and cost.
