Uttar Pradesh is the country's most populous state and its industry reflects that scale and spread: a large sugar and distillery belt in the west and centre, Noida and Ghaziabad on the Delhi border with electronics and manufacturing, Kanpur with leather, textiles and chemicals, Agra and Firozabad with footwear and glass, Moradabad with brassware, Aligarh with locks, and a power and mining belt in the south-east around Sonbhadra.
